After following Megan Daum for 7 weeks, it’s been a complete shift from the blogs of Op Ed columnist Joe Nocera. Anticipating a more random series of blogs, I was surprised to see many of the blogs to be directed mainly towards feminism and politics, sometimes even together. Aside from topics Megan Daums writing is unique and is used effectively.

Certain Athletes are given the privilege of scholarships that will pay most If not all of the expenses in the college they attend. It is said that that the Ed O’Bannon case will soon have a decision, this decision can result in college players to be paid up to 5 grand. Notre Dame a University with large amounts of History in football including movies, says that if players were to be paid they would back out and make their own conference, President of Notre Dame John Jenkins threatens to leave College Football. Op Ed Journalist Joe Nocera says “c’mon, Notre Dame. What are you afraid of?” However my stance on the topic is in favor of both sides.
I agree and believe that Google’s plan to promote safer driving is realistic. Using 21st century technology to help control future cars could result in saving many lives, and impact the world positively.
To begin with, every day approximately 3,287 people die by car accident. Yearly averaging at 1.2-1.3 million fatalities. The Google car that has been on the road since 2009 has only been in 13 accidents and 12 of which were at the fault of the driver rather than the car, one time it was the Google car because a driver took over the wheel, as Google states. If this new technology from Google x were to be used by all drivers then there would be less errors on the road resulting in a smaller amount of drivers injured or possibly killed. |
