Fallout is set in a world where the United States never grew out of the 50's, the idea of nuclear power, flying cars, and robots in home actually happened. On October 23, 2077 the great war happened and the world was plunged into Nuclear war. Most of the fallouts take place around 200 years after the great war. My personal favorite, Fallout New Vegas is set in 2281 in what is was Las Vegas. The story of New Vegas starts off the player as a courier, who was tasked with making an important delivery to a VIP in the New Vegas strip. While making this delivery you are jumped and shot in the head by a guy in a checkered suit named Benny. You are dragged out of the grave and don’t remember anything besides, you were shot in the head and you had to make a delivery. The main quest goes on and you get sucked into this war between four factions, over the wastelands power source, the damn. There is four main factions that the player can choose to side with during the game, the New California Republic, Caesar's Legion, Mr.House, and a self takeover.
I found out about fallout in the summer of 2011, when I would go over to my friends house to play video games. He showed me a game called Fallout New Vegas, I instantly fell in love with it. I would come over to his house almost every day and spend countless hours roaming the vast world that was New Vegas. The main reason I fell in love with fallout is because every decision I made had some sort of effect in the world and just the story rich quest that would send me on hour long journeys looking, battling, and crafting throughout the wasteland. I probably played around well over 600 hours playing fallout on my friends X-box 360, at the beginning of last summer I built myself a computer and got Fallout New Vegas and played another 200 hours. Throughout my 800 hours of playing I constantly would find new ways to play, new quests, new weapons, and new things to do.
